Resize settings

Change pixel dimensions.

Enter one dimension, or fit inside both bounds. No cropping or padding. Turning off aspect ratio stretches to both dimensions.

Output format

JPG is widely accepted but does not support transparency.

Transparent areas become this color; white by default.

Advanced: output quality

Lower quality reduces detail and may reduce file size. PNG does not use a quality setting.

How to resize an image

  1. Choose a still JPG, PNG or WebP image.
  2. Enter a width or height in pixels, or choose Percentage. With aspect ratio on, two dimensions define a bounding box; the image fits inside without cropping.
  3. Choose JPG, PNG or WebP output, resize and check the actual dimensions before downloading.

Dimensions and file size are different

Pixel dimensions change the number of pixels. Percentage scaling changes width and height relative to the original. Neither guarantees a specific KB size. Use Compress images for a byte limit. Unlocking aspect ratio stretches the image when both dimensions are provided; this tool does not crop or add padding.

Supported files and limits

Inputs: still JPG, PNG and WebP. Outputs: JPG, PNG and WebP, subject to browser encoder support. Up to 10 images per batch, 20 MB each and 40 megapixels per input. Output is limited to 16,384 pixels per edge and 40 megapixels. HEIC, GIF, SVG, PDF, animated PNG and animated WebP are not supported. Large images may exceed your device’s available memory.

Privacy, orientation and metadata

Selected files, filenames and previews stay in this browser page. Samples are fetched from this website only when selected. Start over clears the app’s file references; downloaded files remain on your device. Re-encoded images use the browser’s orientation handling and may change color profiles or remove EXIF and other metadata. An unchanged original keeps its original metadata.
